Skins User Guide

ℹ Starting 2024, skin tones are numbered from 01 through 12 and sold as packs. The following information is for skins released in 2024 or later only. Bakes-on-mesh skins include full body shading with no toenails or fingernails, ready to be worn on your mesh body. You can also purchase the base body skin add-on for bakes-on-mesh, which includes some extra options.

Always try the demo for skins in Second Life. The fit can vary even between heads by the same creator!

Face Skins

What’s included:

  • Full skin with generic no fingernails/toes
  • Tattoo layer face with blended neck
  • Tintable tattoo layer eyebrows
  • Optional extra tattoo highlight layer
  • (Genus 4K only) universal layer with blended neck*

*Note: the only way to wear Genus 4K skins is via universal layers.

Tips:

  • Wear the  skin version for a seamless experience with bakes-on-mesh.
  • You can also wear the  tattoo FACE skin version over top of other, similar toned body skins as desired.

Tinting the brows:

To create your own brow color, wear the “no brow” skin version and the tintable eyebrow tattoo. Right click and Edit the white brow tattoo, and use the Color/Tint picker to change the color. Save. You can copy and rename the tintable eyebrow tattoo to quickly change tints.

Base Body Skins

What’s included:

  • Faceless skin with generic body shading + fingernail/toe fit for Maitreya Lara/X and Legacy
  • Tattoo skin with generic body shading + fingernail/toe fit for Maitreya Lara/X and Legacy
  • Tattoo add-ons
    • PG pelvis and chest coverups to remove mature details
    • Petite chest option
    • Boy chest option (no breast shading) in 2 fits
  • Materials applier for Omega, Maitreya, and Legacy
  • Extra add-on tattoo layers
    • Moles
    • Extra highlighting
    • Ladygardens in two options and 3 colors plus tintable

Unpacking

  1. Wear the unpacker HUD.
  2. Press the button for the skin tone or extras item you’d like to unpack.
  3. Accept the folder. It will now be in your inventory.

Wearing the body skins, option 1:

  1. Wear the base skin version first. Ensure you’re in BOM mode on your mesh body and head.
  2. Add a compatible tattoo layer FACE skin.
  3. Add any additional chest options or other extras on tattoo layer.

Wearing the body skins, option 2:

This is the recommendation for wearing the base skin with other brand faces.

  1. Wear any skin. Ensure you’re in BOM mode on your mesh body and head.
  2. Add your tattoo layer FACE skin.
  3. Add the neck blend tattoo layer.
  4. Add the tattoo layer BODY skin.
  5. Add any additional chest options or other extras on tattoo layer.

Using the materials appliers:

  1. Attach the material applier for your mesh body.
  2. Click the option for your materials: regular (mature details) or PG (smoothed pelvis/nips).
  3. If you are having issues seeing materials on your mesh body, ensure that Advanced Lighting is enabled in your Graphic Preferences.
